The Health and Human Services Subcommittee (HHSS) is part of the Indiana County Community Disaster Planning Committee of the Emergency Management Agency (EMA).

Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Planning
It is our mission to support EMA goals and disaster response by linking together agencies to provide health, medical, and human services. Included in this mission is providing medical countermeasures for Indiana County when necessary. The HHSS website is a tool to help us accomplish these goals. We hope you take advantage of this website to get your disaster information and be prepared.
10/17/2024. What a great event! Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission sponsored some Halloween fun at Mack Park yesterday. HHSS gave away hundreds of "Prepare with Pedro" books (disaster preparedness for kids activity books) as well as “Family Emergency Plan” card sheets, fire preparedness activity sheets, "Preparing Pets for Disaster" brochures, and of course, candy!

About
The Indiana County Health and Human Services Subcommittee (HHSS) was formed in 2002 in response to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
HHSS operates under the Indiana County Community Disaster Planning Committee: Indiana County Emergency Management Agency www.indianacounty.org, which is chaired by the Director of the Indiana County EMA.
HHSS works to support the Emergency Support Function #8: Health and Medical Services of the County’s Emergency Operations Plan. HHSS strives to meet the needs of medical care, human services, and the dissemination of public health information necessary to support an emergency Response, recovery effort or other disaster assistance initiative in Indiana County.
HHSS can only accomplish this by the bringing together of local health and human services agencies to work together in disaster planning, preparedness and response activities.
